Charleston, SC

Tuesday, October 19

I didn't sleep very well last night.  I woke up around 2:30 AM and couldn't go back to sleep.  So I got up and messed around on the computer for a couple of hours until I got tired enough to go back to sleep.  I don't like nights like that.

We only spent one night in Sunset Beach.  This morning we got up and packed everything to move.  We pulled out a little late but the road was clear all the way down US17.  We soon were passing out of North Carolina and into South Carolina.  The drive was once again around 130 miles.  We are spending the next 3 nights on Charleston Naval Weapons Station.  The RV park is called Foster Creek.  Full hookups are only $15.00 a night.  One big perk of Bill being retired from the Marines.

After getting hooked up and settled in it was around 2:30 so we headed over to ITT to pay our bill then into town to get something to eat.  We ended up at Olive Garden for our combination lunch and dinner.  Bill had lasagna and I had chicken scampi.  Both were great as were the salad and bread sticks.  We both ordered iced tea and assumed it would be regular tea (the menu didn't mention sweet tea).  Instead of tasting it right away we both put sweetener in.  Bad move!  It was sweet tea.  As the ice melted it calmed the overly sweet flavor down.

Tonight we checked the location of places we are headed to later and also the addresses for tomorrow.  But I will write more about that tomorrow.  Hope you had a great day.
