Wednesday & Thursday, 6/06 & 6/07/2012
Wednesday started out wet. It was raining so we broke camp and got wet. We thought about calling and telling everyone we weren't coming (just kidding) but were soon unhooked and on the road. It rained most of the way but stopped when we were about an hour out of New Bern. We stopped at Stormy & Bryant's shop before heading into the base. Everyone liked the rig and were surprised at how much room we had when the slides were out.
We got on the base with no problems and got settled into our site. The campground is a little tight so we wound up pulling into the site from the side. It is the same site we were in last year. We did drive over to where the new campground is being built. It is scheduled to be done sometime in the summer next year.
We went over to the house after everyone got off of work and enjoyed time visiting with everyone there. The kids were scheduled to arrive at 11:40 PM so I was keeping an eye one the clock. We did go back to the rig first to get the air mattress blown up and things arranged. Ashley, Phillip and Nelson came to the airport to meet the kids. Nick and Aimee arrived after an uneventful flight. Aimee didn't exactly enjoy the small plane ride but she was fine. We picked up their luggage and went back to the rig. Since it was so late we all went right to bed.
Thursday morning we took turns getting ready and then went out for a drive. We took Aimee & Nick down to the beach to walk through the town. We enjoyed a fish lunch at the Sanitary Restaurant. After a bit more driving we went back to the rig to get their luggage. Stormy is loaning them a car for the week so we put the luggage into the car at the house and they went off to check into the hotel. The were picked at "guests of the day" so they got some special treatment at the hotel.
Everyone met back at the house later that evening. Once again we enjoyed visiting with everyone there. Since we all had a late night last night we left early to go home and get some much needed sleep. I will take pictures soon.
Have a good day.
