We made it to North Carolina! Of course, we are on the wrong side of the state. We are just barely in the Eastern part of the state. We still have a bit over 400 miles to go. We will arrive on Wednesday in the early afternoon.
Tonight we are at Oakwood RV in Waysnesville, NC. It is on the edge of the Blue Ridge Mountains. We aren't going to do any travel in the Blue Ridge tonight but do enjoy the view. Or we did until it started raining. It rained most of the night and into the morning. There was a light sprinkle as we hooked up to leave.
We did do a little shopping in town. I got a dowel rod to put by the sliding closet door. It keeps opening while we are driving and the window locks we bought before don't really work. The dowel works fine and is cheap.
We also went to Walmart and picked up a couple of things for then the kids visit. We got an air mattress and some new pillows. I have to get a body pillow for Aimee but I can get that at Bed Bath and Beyond when we get in. I will also do some grocery shopping when we get to the base.
I made chicken and rice for dinner. It was a bit thick to be soup but wasn't really y stew. Either way it was good. I used cream of chicken soup mix, chicken broth, carrots, celery, onion, spices, rice and shredded chicken. Since the chicken had already been cooked (it was from when the fridge went out that I cooked and froze) it was a quick meal. It was also very good.
Here are a couple of pics of our site and the stream that runs by the campground.
Hope you have a good day. We have a short drive on Tuesday, only about 200 miles. I can't wait until we get where we are going. I don't like this driving everyday stuff.
