Today's adventure had us driving about 30 miles to the town of Hazleton, PA. This is where Bill's father's family lived for awhile. I hope to find some info and headstones at the cemetery. Junior, the GPS, took us directly to the cemetery. I had planned to get here during the week hoping to find an office with someone in it. No such luck. If you don't know where the headstone you want it you will jsut have to wander around. In fact, we found a group from Canada doing just that. We did come up with the idea of calling Bill's Uncle Bobby. He was able to give us the general .location of some of the headstones we were looking for. We also wandered around and found some with the surnames I knew. We aren't sure if those are related but I will check with my records to see. It is sometimes better to have too much info than too little.
After we finished at the cemetery we headed to Wilkes-Barre, about 25 miles to the north. This is where the Luzurne County Historical Society is. It was a good idea but I really didn't find much.
After that we headed over to Walmart. Bill's razor finally gave up the ghost so he needed a new one. There isn't a Walmart near where we are camping so we decided to stop while in this bigger town. After that we decided to have dinner at Cracker Barrel. It was really a combination of lunch and dinner as it was about 3:30 PM. As always everything was good. Bill was lucky as I didn't find anything to buy. They have Halloween and Christmas stuff out and I just can't get in the mood yet.
That was our day. The only pictures I have are of headstones so I don't think those are interesting to anyone. Have a good day.
