Going to the games

Today is the day and Terry is ready to go.  We are heading into Williamsport to attend the games!  We decided we would be going to the 1:00, 4:00 and 8:00 games.  Yesterday was cold and this morning started out very foggy and cool so we all dressed a little on the warm side.  We packed our lunches and snacks and headed out.  They have changed the parking a bit so we weren't as close to the field as we used to be but they do have shuttles to get us up the hill. 

After passing through security, yes they have metal detectors and I set it off, we located a place for our chairs.  You can't bring liquids into the stadium so I stopped to buy some water and some fresh kettle corn.  Terry went to walk around a bit and the rest of us settled down and got comfortable.  The first game was Uganda vs Oregon.  Uganda won the game but this was a consolation game so they won't be moving on.  The sun came out and it started getting really warm.  I started pealing off layers of clothes.  Good thing we left some of the heavier jackets and blankets in the car. 

After that game the guys found a place a little closer to the field they wanted to sit in.  It was on a bit more pronounced slant but we settled in.  Now it was really getting hot.  I had brought my umbrella in case it rained so I used that for shade.  The second game was Mexico vs Carribean.  Mexico won this game.  They will move on.  We left the game before it was over but Mexico was winning. 

We went to Hoss's restaurant for dinner then headed back to the field for the final game.  This one is Calif vs New Jersey.  It was a good, exciting game and Calif won 5 - 0.  They will advance in the series. 

It was a late night for us and we didn't get to bed before midnight.  We plan on sleeping in tomorrow.
