This morning we got up and got on the road to Nashville. It was a little over 200 miles to drive. The roads were good and there wasn't too much construction so it was a good drive. We did have one rest area turn out to be a truck parking area that was closed so we had to drive another 30 miles to get to a rest area. That one was really packed but we were lucky and got a spot. We had a quick bite of lunch and got back on the road. A stop for fuel and then we hit the highways around Nashville. Since it was Sunday there wasn't much traffic. We did take the beltway instead of driving downtown. We are at Seven Points Campground on the J Percy Priest dam. This is a Corps of Engineer park so there is only water and power but we do have 50 amps and it is only $10 a night with the senior national park pass. Such a deal. It is a very well kept park. We are in site 44 and were able to get our satellite to lock in so it will stay on our list of good sites. I thought the trees might keep us from getting a lock. Site 42 next door would also be a good spot. We can see the boat launch from our site and have a good view of the lake.
It wind is blowing off the lake, and not a light breeze and it is warm outside. I think it was up in the 90's when we got here. Good thing the air is working so well now. Speaking of air conditioners. I got a call from Nick saying the air conditioner at the house wasn't working and it is in the high 90's there. The air conditioner is only about 4 years old. It shouldn't have any problems. He called the company and got a tech to come out and he said it was because the Freon was overcharged. What? They were out about 6 months ago and serviced the thing. At least it wasn't anything expensive.
Tomorrow we are going to go site seeing. We plan on going to the Loveless Cafe for breakfast then into downtown to check things out. We thought about going to Jack Daniels but it is almost 100 miles away. Oh well.
So that is it for today. More pictures tomorrow.
