Mebane, NC

Jones Station RV Park
Mebane, NC

Left left New Bern this morning around 10:00.  We have about 190 miles to drive but it is an easy drive.  Everything was working just right when we pulled out.  Our destination is Mebane, NC.  It is just off I-40 and between Durham and Greensboro.  We will be here for two nights.

When we pulled in there was a group of people standing around for a picture at a sign.  They were waving to us and I think they thought we were part of their group.  Well, we could be.  It was a the local SMART camping group.  This is a military camping group.  We haven't talked to them yet but probably will before we leave.  We made it to the office and got signed in.

The campground has a lot of trees.  I was worried that we would not be able to get satellite but it locked right in.  It is so funny that at the base we thought there should be no problem as the trees were far away from the rig and we couldn't completely lock in.  But here, surrounded by trees there is no problem.  I will never figure this thing out.  The site we were in went downhill in the front so we didn't get quite level but not enough for us not to come back here.  It is a nice place.

I fixed a nice dinner of sausage and sauerkraut, something we haven't had in awhile.  After dinner we took a ride around the town to check it out.  We stopped at the Lowe's and got a couple of things.  There is an outlet mall here that we are planning on checking out tomorrow.

We got a lot of rain in the night.  I hope it doesn't continue tomorrow.

That is all for now.  More later.
