Wow, have we been busy

Saturday, 10/28/2017

We have been working our fingers to the bone packing and loading our stuff.  The Pod arrived on Friday morning and we spent most of the afternoon loading boxes into it.  Bill thinks everything is going to fit.  We went out to dinner with our old neighbors, the Spicklemeiers.  We try to go out with them once a year or so.  This is our last one.

On Thursday, my brother, Jim, came down and helped Bill move the last of the heavy stuff out to the garage.  So our refrigerator, dining room table, bed and sectional couch are all in the garage.  I hope to get rid of them during the next few days.

We have taken a couple of loads of stuff to charity and have a few more to go.  I have rented a small trash container to come on Monday to get rid of everything else.  The upstairs is empty and we are slowly emptying the bottom floor.  But it does seem like we think we are done with a room and then open a cabinet and find stuff we missed.

We went to the escrow office on Tuesday and signed the deed and some other papers.  Everything is slowly coming together.

We finally got our rig on Thursday night.  We actually got it on Tuesday and took it home but the refrigerator kept turning off so it went back Wednesday.  They overrode the code and it seemed to work fine on propane.  They kept it Wednesday night to run it on electricity.  We picked it up later on Thursday, took it back to the house, loaded it up and got to the base campground around 7:00 PM.  Since we didn't have a bed or food in the house we needed to move into the RV.  Now we are comfortable at night at least.

So the saga continues.  We hope to pack most everything else today so we can spend Sunday making sure everything is in the pod.  Then we start cleaning, or at least vacuuming and mopping the floors.

Have a good day
