Our first camp out of the season was this last weekend. The weather has been nice but it decidedly to turn yucky just before the camp out. We brought the rig over on Tuesday and got it loaded up. We even hooked up the tow car in anticipation of leaving. We went it bed and woke up Wednesday to this.
It had snowed about 2 inches. Luckily it all melted before we left around 1:00. It was cold the rest of the day with on and off snow flurries. We had to disconnect the water hose overnight and had the heater running at night. It didn’t really warm up on Thursday and we had snow flurries off and on all day. Once again the water was disconnected at night. Friday it did warm up and reach the 50’s. People came outside and we were able to visit. We even had dinner outside. The campground usually lets us have a room they have but it currently has a bunch of stuff in it. They are installing a number of cabins around the campground and they are storing their junk in it. The group is trying a new thing with one couple doing everything for the dinner instead of a potluck. I am not sure I liked it. One, I think it is too much work for one couple. Two, they put everything into to go boxes so each person was given 3 styrofoam boxes for their dinner, salad and dessert. I think this is a lot of trash. They said it was because of COVID and kept a lot of people from touching the serving pieces. But their were at least 5 women dishing stuff up and using their bare hands. Oh, they served beef stew, cornbread, salad and cake for Friday night dinner.
Saturday it drizzled or rained all day. We decided to drive into Richmond, IN, about 5 miles away and visit the Model T Museum. It was cute and we spent about an hour and a half there.
Once we got back to the rig it really rained hard. One thing about being stuck in the rig, we both took naps and got caught up on our sleep. Saturday night dinner was lasagna with bread, salad and brownies. Again, there was a lot of styrofoam.
Sunday dawned with cloudy skies but no rain so we got packed up and ready to go. I hope next month the weather is better and the camp out goes better. I miss our old camping group.
Our bathroom is still not done. The glass shower door is suppose to go in on Wednesday. The shower needs to be grouted first. I assume that will be Monday or Tuesday.
The kids put in a bid on a house over the weekend. We have our fingers crossed for them. They should know on Monday.
That is all for now.
