Doing things

So we went to the local dinner theater and saw Phantom. I saw this show in LA at the Dorothy Chandler theater and I think I liked the local version better.  Not as big of a production but I could hear and understand the singers. When we left the theater it was snowing and icy rain. We had to scrape some ice off the windshield so we could see but we made it home just fine.  We go back to the theater in April to see The Music Man.

On the 12th we went to lunch with our camping group.  I used the gps in my car for directions.  Big mistake. I had looked it up on Google maps before leaving and when I got off the freeway the gps said turn right but I remembered Google saying turn left.  Dummy me, I followed the gps.  It took me 5 miles up a winding road to the middle of nowhere.  I turned around and used my phone and Google maps and went back the exact 5 miles to the freeway and went the way I would have gone if I turned left!  It was at a German bier haus and the food was really good.  If it wasn’t over 30 miles away we would go more often.

I talked to my trust lawyer and he answered my questions about getting an identity number for Mom’s trust.  He also answered a couple other questions I had.  I had to wait until Monday but I was able to get the number online.  Last step to complete everything is to wait for the death certificate.  I am glad I have already purchased my tickets as the price has really increased due to fuel prices going up.  I wonder if they will hit me with a surcharge?

Bill and I went to one of the wealth management company dinners at Fleming’s steakhouse one night.  I mainly wanted the free steak dinner, ha ha.  It was a really good steak dinner.  Anyway, what they talked about was actually pretty interesting and they covered some things I had been thinking about so I made an appointment to visit them.  It was set for a week or so later so I gathered all the info they wanted to review and we went.  What we have reviewed so far sounds good and we have another meeting lined up soon.  So far there is no charge so I don’t mind meeting with them.

Springboro holds an expo each year featuring local businesses.  We went and pickup up some info for the kids from contractors and painting companies.  I got cards from a couple of roofing companies.  We are planning on replacing ours next year.  We also attended a concert put on by the Springboro Winds Orchestra.  It was free and we enjoy that kind of music.

We went to lunch with the kids one day.  We decided to try Warped Wings Brewhouse and Smokery.  It was not bad.  It is the kind of place I would go for lunch but not dinner as they serve bar food.  Bill was not impressed as they didn’t serve coffee!  Nick has been working really hard.  They are looking to hire more people but not getting any applications.  Too bad as they pay well.

Spring break is coming up and we will probably take Rory somewhere for one of the days.  That will depend on weather and other plans.

A big thing around here for lent is fish fry Friday.  We decided, after looking at the signs for the last 3 years, to go to the local Eagles lodges (like the Elks) for fried fish.  Well, I was disappointed.  The food wasn’t that good.  The fish pieces were really small, the French fries were over cooked, the coleslaw had too much mayo.  Oh well, we went, we ate, we won’t be going back.

So that is all for today  I hope things are going good for you
