An evening concert

Sunday, July 18

Yesterday when we got back to the rig, there was a bunch of water spraying out of the vent on the back of the refrigerator. Turns out that the hose to the ice maker had sprung a leak. Bill spent some time with it and after we drove over to Home Depot he was able to fix it. Yeah! An inexpensive problem for once.

Sunday was a recovery day for me. Bill washed the motorhome, as this park allows it. I sat outside and watched for a bit and made suggestions as to which part to dry. Hee Hee. It was a warm day so he was happy to get to the side in the shade. Afterward he took a shower and we headed into town for dinner. Along the way I took a couple of pictures of the swimming hole and creek that is in the front of the campground.

I had selected a restaurant based on reviews I read on the internet. Everyone said it was a good family restaurant. Unfortunately I didn't see that they are only open for breakfast and lunch on Sundays! The rest of the week they serve dinner too. That is something we tend to forget, that not everyplace is open on Sundays like it is at home. We could have driven up to one of the big chain restaurants but decided to drive over to the next town, where we are planning on attending a concert in the park.

We drove over to Bigfork, which is on the northern most point of Flathead Lake. After finding a parking lot, the town was a lot busier than we expected, we tried the restaurant we were parked across from - closed on Sunday evenings. Hmm, am I sensing a trend here? We asked a local for some suggestions. Half of them were closed or not open yet (it wasn't quite 5:00). We finally wound up in a restaurant at the Swan River Inn. We sat outside on the deck overlooking the bay. It was a little on the up-scale side (meaning expensive). They noted on the menu that they served in the European style(meaning sloooow). By the time our drinks arrived we had been seated for 30 minutes. It was another 15 minutes or so before our salads showed up. Our entrees were at least 20 minutes after that. In all I think we spent over an hour and 45 minutes there. Good thing we had a nice view of the bay and could watch the people and boats. We went to the desk to pay our bill as we were needed to get to the park for the concert. I forgot to take my camera to dinner so I didn't get a picture of the view there.

The city of Bigfork puts on a concert every Sunday during the summer. Tonights show was an Irish group. They played and sang. It was a very nice evening. I had remembered to bring my OFF! fan and it was working great until the batteries ran out! Then I got a number of bites. Anyway, we enjoyed the music. Here is the group.

Here is the whole slideshow.
