Howdy Ya'll

Sunday, August 29

Today was moving day but because check-in at the next campground is at 3:00 PM we stuck around here until noon. We had most of the un-hooking done but not all the outside stuff. That didn't take very long and we were out of there in about 30 minutes.

We jumped on I-65 and headed south toward Nashville. Just before crossing the Kentucky/Tennessee border we stopped at Flying J to fuel up. This is the first one we have encountered that didn't accept the Flying J frequent fueler card. With the merger with Pilot things are changing. We decided to have lunch in the restaurant. That will be changing soon too. All the Flying J restaurants will be come Denny's.

We didn't hit any traffic as we drove through the greater Nashville area and after winding out way down some small roads we found the campground. The gentleman in the booth gave us a map and we found our site. It is very long and pretty level. We are surrounded by trees so no satellite here. The campground is on a lake (J Percy Priest lake). It is pretty empty right now but will probably fill up this coming weekend. We will be gone by then.

We don't have any plans here except to go the the Grand Ole Opry on Tuesday night at the Ryman. We will see Montgomery Gentry and others. We have been to most of the tourist spots in town so there is no reason to go back. We drove past the Opry Hotel/Opry/Opry Mills/Bass Pro Shops area. It is still closed due to the flood and they are remodeling. It is funny to see a great big mall like that closed but I guess there was a lot of damage. I understand the Opry building will reopen in Oct and the hotel in Nov.

We planned our arrival pretty well as it started raining after we got all hooked up. It drizzled most of the rest of the day and night so not much went on. Tomorrow I will take pictures of the park.
