Long, long day of driving...

Thursday, August 26

...not really! We only drove about 67 miles today. We could even arrive before we left! We didn't realize that we would be crossing back into Central time so we had to set the clocks back an hour. Luckily, the check-out time was noon so we hung around until just about then before moving on. We also stopped for about 30 minutes at a rest area.

We are currently at Singing Hill Campground in Cave City, KY. The park is not too bad. They were mowing the grass today but other than that it is fine. Certainly not a resort but a nice place to spend a couple of days. It is a Passport America park and we are just a couple of miles down the road from Mammoth Caves National Park. We will probably not be able to tour any of the park caves but we are going to try to get one or two of the private caves. We have to tour caves that are not too strenuous for me.

We did drive to the next town to get some groceries. There was Super Walmart there. I asked about the grocery stores around the campground and when the owner recommended one she said, "it is the cleanest one." That made me decided to drive the 12 miles to Walmart.

So that was our day. I will get pictures tomorrow.
