Sunday - Tuesday, October 10 - 12
Today is the last day of getting up early and getting out. Normally we don’t have a lot to do in the morning so we take awhile to get moving. Once more we traveled out to Emerald Isle. Nick got up early and went to play 9 holes with Tyler, his nephew. They returned around 10:00 AM and he and Aimee packed their bags. We have to drive them into Raleigh today to catch their flight home. I have to remember to fly them into New Bern next time!
It was a long day driving 150 miles each way. We did park at the airport but just dropped them off. There really isn’t anywhere to sit and visit inside RDU so it was better to just let them go. It was really great to see them and I hope they enjoyed their stay. This was one time we had all of Bill’s kids, their significant others, and his grandchildren in one place. It will be a few years before that will happen again.
When we finally arrived back at the rig we collapsed and took naps. We were both very tired. We had stopped and had dinner before driving back so I didn’t have to cook anything tonight.
Monday was set aside for more recovery. It takes me a few days to get to feeling normal again after such a busy weekend. We did visit the Laundromat to get this weeks cleaning done but that was about it. On our way back to the rig we pulled through Taco Bell and picked up lunch. Nothing much else happened today.
On Tuesday we drove into New Bern so that I could have my blood drawn for lab tests. I have to do this every 3 months to check for drug interaction. We visited Stormy at work and then returned to the hospital to pick up the results. The rest of the day we didn’t do much and we watched TV in the evening. I am feeling better but it will be another day or so before I am all the way back. We had leftovers for dinner so again, no cooking.
