Albuquerque, NM

Sunday, Nov 14

We got up this morning to leave Amarillo.  Since it has been so cold Bill unhooked the water last night.  We used the shower house next door to us.  It was nice and clean and warm so we enjoyed long, hot showers.  After that we went up to the office/restaurant for breakfast.  It was good but the waitress was a bit slow.  We both had omelets with various sides.  I think it was $7.20 per person.  Not bad considering I had the omelet, hash browns, toast, bacon and hot tea.  Bill had biscuits and gravy with his omelet.  This was a very nice campground for $20 a night.  The sites were nice long pull-through sites and full hook-ups.

While we were in the office paying for breakfast a lady came in saying her husband was locked in one of the shower rooms.  Seems he locked both deadbolts and now the top one wouldn't open.  They called maintenance to go look at it. We aren't sure of the outcome as he was still in there when we pulled out of the campground!  I bet he was mad.  When I took a shower I didn't even notice the second deadbolt as it was so high up.

The drive was pretty much uneventful.  We did have a little rain in places but nothing much.  We originally planned on stopping at Santa Rosa, NM but when we got close Bill said he would keep driving.  We wound up going to Albuquerque, NM.  A distance of about 260 miles.  We are parked for the night at the Enchanted Trails RV Park.  It is a Passport America park so it is only $18.02 with tax and everything.  The sites are a bit close, we can hear the heater on the coach next to us, but overall it is a good overnight stop.  Camping World is right next door if you need anything.

It got really cold last night but didn't freeze the water lines.   We have been running our space heater each night to keep it warmer.  Of course, when we get back to Hemet it will get hot again.

Here are some pictures of the campground
