Quartzsite, AZ

Thursday, Nov 18

About 200 miles of travel today to make our way to Quartzsite, AZ.  Right now the city is pretty empty.  In January the population will be 10 times this size.  Quartzsite is a popular place for Snowbirds to come.  In Jan. they have these really big swap meets going on.  Even now there are a lot of people boondocking on the BLM (Bureau of Land Management) land.  I was surprised at that.

We are parked in the Kofa Mountain RV Park.  It is mostly park models and some permanents.  They have some sites on the outer area for overnight stays.

On our way here we stopped at a Cracker Barrel for lunch.  It will be our last visit to a CB for the next six months.  We don't have them in CA.

After we got parked Bill wanted to get the car washed, it is filthy.  Would you believe there are no car washes in Quartzsite?  Well, there aren't.  We drove 20 miles to Blythe, CA to get it washed.  At least we got to check prices for diesel on our way and chose the place we will stop tomorrow morning.  The price of fuel has certainly gone up.

There are no pictures today.  On Friday we pull into my folks house.

Have a good day.
