Busy weekend

Tuesday, Dec 14

It was a busy weekend and a few days leading up to them.

Nick worked from on Thursday to be there for the installation of a new air conditioner/heater unit and also a new stove.  Aimee is thrilled with the stove.  The old one was causing headaches when she tried to bake anything.  We got a really good deal on a new one by shopping on the weekend after Thanksgiving.  The heater/air unit replaces the original ones from the house so they are about 27 years old.  The new ones should be more effencient and save on electricity and gas.

On Saturday we attended the memorial service for our friend Bob Lankey.  Bob was 82 years old and had been battleing cancer.  His wife, May, passed last March.  They had been married 61 years, I believe.  The Lankey's were great people and they will both be missed by all that knew them.  Later that evening I saw the most incredible sunset.  A fitting tribute.

Sunday we traveled into Orange County and spent some time with the kids and Lola.  We also attended the board meeting of the Rustlers, a square dance club we belong to.  After that the clubs holiday party was held.  We had a great potluck, entertainment and the installation of new officers.  Here are a couple of pictures.

This next week is also going to be a busy time.  We have our annual visit with our doctor and I am seeing an orthopedic surgeon to look at my left knee.  I think it is time to get it replaced.  Not looking forward to that.  I also joined Weight Watchers today.  I will work the program and see how it goes.

Here are all the pictures from the party.
