If this is Friday....

Friday, June 17

then we must be seeing the Rankin Brothers!  That is how you keep time in Branson, based on the show you are seeing.

The day started off quietly enough with Bill, Terry and Ed out fishing.  They are only doing catch and release right now as they have plenty of fish for the fish fry and to take home.  They have all caught their limits when they have gone out.  That meant we girls had all morning to do what we wanted.  We sat around for a bit and gossipped but then decided we needed to go to Cracker Barrel so that we could check out the store without the guys.  We plan on going here for breakfast on Sunday.  We spent a bit of time there and I did buy some things.  I found a blouse I wanted to wear at the reunion in October, I know, who would have thought that I would find something at Cracker Barrel!!!  Bill even likes it.  Now all I need to get is a small shrug.

The guys had a great time fishing and I even gave Bill the old camera to take some pictures.  Unfortunately, they have been lost during the great camera fiasco.  My brand new camera is having problems and I have only had it 18 days!  The other night at Noah it slipped off my lap and fell on the floor but it wasn't very far.  I also banged it when taking it out of my purse the other day, but nothing hard.  Heck, my other camera has been dropped many times from great heights on hard surfaces.  Last night I had trouble taking pictures and since I was using the same memory card the fishing pictures somehow got erased in the process.  Bummer!  I called Samsung this morning and now my brand new camera is on its way to be repaired.  I have it being shipped to Stormy's house when they are done with it as we don't know where we will be then.  We will figure something out to get it back to us.  So now it is back to the old camera for awhile.

We girls decided to fix dinner instead of going out tonight.  Lydia made the sauce, I made the spaghetti, Lyn brought garlic bread, Betty made a salad and Earlene brought dessert.  It was a really good dinner.  We split up the leftovers for other nights.  Earlene went to Andy's and brought frozen custard for dessert along with chocolate chip cookies.

Our show tonight was to see the Rankin Brothers.  They perform in the Mickey Gilley Theatre.  We had never heard of them but they were highly recommended by the folks at the campground office and we got discounted tickets, so off we went.  The two brothers put on a high energy show featuring impressions of Elvis, Neil Diamond, Sonny & Cher, The Beach Boys, The Everly Bros, George Strait, Buddy Holly and many more.  They also have back-up singers called the Rankinettes who also perform songs like Da Doo Ron Ron, Downtown, and other girl group songs.  We did have a great time as did everyone with us.  The two brothers do some comedy which reminds you that they are brothers!
