We thought there wouldn't be a line or anything at our first stop. We should have thought about the type of people who would want to visit here. Where is here? The Harley-Davidson Facility, north of Kansas City. When we pulled up there were a million motorcycles parked out front. I think there was a "ride" going on. We were told the next available tour was two hours away and there isn't much to do up there so we decided to just tour the gift shop. They had a lot of Harley stuff but we didn't buy anything.
So off we went to our next stop. This trip required us to head downtown to Crown Center. This is the area where Hallmark Cards main office is. You don't get to tour the actual factory, but they do have a Visitor's Center. This year they are celebrating 100 years of business so they have items from their history on display. Of course, there is also a large display of their Christmas Ornaments. We really enjoyed visiting here.
This center is also attached to a shopping mall so we walked around for a bit. We did have a lunch of KC BBQ beef tips. It was pretty good. KC BBQ uses a sweeter BBQ sauce.
When we finished at the center we headed back to the rig for a much needed nap. Turns out there is a train track near the campground and it is very active at night. Each train blows it horn three times and I think they also blow them at each stree they cross. Between 11:00 PM and 2:00 AM there is a train about every 15 minutes. The park reviews didn't mention that!
Since we had lunch out we decided to split a Weight Watchers pizza and have some watermelon. Nothing big. It is still hot here so we wanted something light
Hope you had a good. More later.
