We were both up bright and early today and got on the road by 8:15 AM! It will probably be our earliest day. It was kind of nerve racking as I tried to remember if I brought everything out to the rig from my parent's house. I certainly hope we didn't leave anything behind.
The first week of this trip will not be overly exciting as we are making our way straight to South Dakota. We need to get our driver's licenses renewed before my bithday. Today was a long trip of 277 miles from Hemet to North Las Vegas. We are spending two nights on Nellis Air Force Base to get ourselves back into the day to day of traveling.
Monday night we decided to drive into downtown Vegas. I wanted to see the Fremont Street Experience as I have never done that before. I was a little disappointed in the show. It appears they only do one song every hour. The rest of the time they show commercials for the businesses on the street. I reminded me a little of Bourbon Street in New Orleans. There were certainly a lot of drunks out and about. Lots of people doing street performances were also there. I saw a Johnny Depp impersonator, Spiderman, Sponge Box, and others. Painters and musicians also were along the street. All of the people had buckets for tips in front of them. A number had a bunch of money in them.
So we came, we saw, we left. But at least I can mark it off our list. No, we didn't gamble.
The first few pictures are of the guys cooking breakfast at our campout this month.
