Happy Birthday Sis!

Tuesday, Wednesday, July 24 & 25

Tuesday was my OLDER sisters birthday.  I hope you had a great day.

We didn't do much on Tuesday.  I did a couple of loads of laundry on Monday night so Lydia would have both washers and dryers available on Tuesday morning.  She needed to get caught up on her laundry.  The guys went to a local RV store but Bill didn't buy anything.  They also drove over and checked out the Chicagoland Raceway but didn't go in.  On their way back to the campground they found an interesting vegetable stand.  After the laundry was finished we drove to a Menard's and then to the veggie stand.  Lydia and I both bought a bunch of tomatoes.  I love veggie stand tomatoes.

There was a really good thunderstorm around 6:00 AM that woke me up.  The wind kicked up real good and it rained buckets for a bit.  It didn't last too long but left a lot of standing water in the campground.  The area is having a drought but you wouldn't know it from being around us.  It has rained just about every day since we have been out.  Guess we should hire out as rainmakers!

Once the rain stopped and we had breakfast and got dressed it was a race to see who could get to the dump station first.  We won.  Terry & Lydia informed us that they got a call last night and their son and his girlfriend were in a motorcycle accident.  Someone in a car hit them while they were driving.  Their son is fine, just beat up a little, and his girlfriend had a broken leg.  Luckoily the witnesses stopped and gave reports to the police.

After both of us got our holding tanks dumped we headed out to Montello, WI.  We found our campground with no problem.  It isn't much but it only cost $15 a night.  The name is the Ox Creek Campground in Montello, WI.  We have a full hookup, 50 amp site.  They have a full hookup 30 amp site.  That site is also a back in.  We said we would do the driving and take the back in site but Terry said he would do it.

After getting all settled in we drove around town to find their waterfalls.  Some books we picked up at the visitor's center said there were 5 waterfalls that could be seen downtown.  Downtown is only about 2 streets so we found the falls without too much trouble.  They used to mine granite here, it was the main industry of the city, and they made a lake and waterfalls after the mine closed.  There are even fish in the little lake.  Terry was hunting for his fishing pole!

After checking out the falls we drove around and picked a place for breakfast tomorrow morning.  Then we drove back to the rig where it was my turn to fix dinner.  I broiled a steak that I had marinating.  I served some parmesean noodles, beans and fresh tomatoes with it,  Lydia brought over a salad.  We had a good meal.

Terry and Lydia are having a problem with their airconditioner.  They will have to have it looked at in Wausau.  it is too hot here to not have the use of your front air.

Before we went to bed we heard there was a thunderstorm watch for the county we are in.  There was a bit a rain in the evening but the real rain didn't it until after midnight.  Then it hit and hit hard!  There was a lot of thunder and lightening as well as sheets of rain.  The lightening hit something in the area and we have been without power since about 2:00 AM.  Good thing we are self contained and can use the generator!

That is about all for now.  See you later.
