You know it is going to be hot when the airconditioner kicks in at 8:00 AM. Once again temps are either in the 100's or close to it. We decided to go to a mall to pick up a couple of things and also because it would be cool. As we drove off base we noticed all the tree limbs that had fallen in the night. There are also areas of the base that don't have power. Many of the traffic lights were out. One odd thing I saw was that nobody was stopping at the traffic signals and proceeding like they were stop signs. Everyone was pretty much just driving through the intersections! This was also happening on the surface streets! If you were on the bigger road you didn't stop at the broken light. Now the lights were not flashing red, they were just not on at all.
We were lucky and the mall had power so it was open. We walked around a bit and had a bite to eat. Then we decided to see a movie. We saw Madagascar 3. It was cute and if you enjoyed the previous ones you will like this one.
After that we headed over to Brian and Jamie's house. It wasn't that far away. They have been without power since last night. We originally planned to go out for dinner but decided to cook what they had in the fridge instead. It needed to be cooked or it would go bad. Reminded me of when we lost our fridge back in May. Such a pain. It looks like their power will be off for a couple more days. The storm caused major issues out here for the power company and they are working as fast as they can. Everyone is fine, which is a good thing.
Their house was very nice and it has a huge yard. Brian is putting up a fence around the backyard. He has help from friends and neighbors but it is a hot job. He has the posts up and is starting to put the paneling up. It should start moving faster now and they should have it done in a week or so. His neighbors behind him have power so they ran an extention cord to power the nail gun.
We had a nice visit and headed home before it got dark. I found the open gate without too much trouble. Our power at the campground is still on and so was the air conditioner. I hope we don't have any problems with it.
Here are the pics I took -

How many bedrooms and bathrooms? Looks like a big home.
