Bossier City, LA

Monday - Tuesday, Oct 1-2, 2012

We decided not to stay another night in Vicksburg as the rain had let up enough for us to unhook and leave.  We really didn't have anything to visit here as we had been here last year. 

The drive across Louisiana was rainy most of the way.  About 3/4 of the way it finally stopped raining.  We arrived at Barksdale AFB a little after noon.  We will be staying here for three nights. 

After we got settled I did a couple of loads of laundry at the laundromat here.  It is easier to use the big machines for the sheets and I washed a couple of rugs. 

I made ravioli with meatballs for dinner.  I like the fresh ravioli you can get at the store.  I heated up the meatballs with some pasta sauce.  It was a good meal. 

We have been encountering ants for the last few days.  We had them in North Carolina, the appeared in Demopolis, then we had an ant hill next to our hookups in Vicksburg and now they are here in Bossier City!  We have used a lot of ant spray the last few weeks.  I hope this ends soon. 

Tuesday morning I slept in a bit and then we got ready to go to the commissary to get food.  This is probably the last big shopping I will do until after we get to Calif.  I will need to empty my freezer and fridge before we take the rig in for maintenance work. 

I surprised myself and actually remembered to take in my reusable bags for the groceries.  I usually leave them in the car and remember them when I check out. 

I had an appointment to get my blood work done this afternoon.  I am late doing it as I lost the order my doctor gave me and I had to wait for her to send me a new one.  I was in and out in no time. 

After that we drove over to Best Buy to check out in dash radios.  The Sirrius radio we have is old and cuts out after using it for a couple of hours.  Since I will probably only ever use Sirrius in the RV I thought this was the best and least expensive way to go.  When we get to Austin I plan on visiting a Fry's and seeing what they have. 

I had put s turkey breast in the crockpot this morning so that is what we had for dinner.  A very good meal, if I do say so myself.  I also fried up some apple slices to go with it.  Yummy. 

I have been doing laundry in the rig today.  I am almost finished with everything.  I also used my dishwasher to keep it working.  I am so spoiled. 

That is all for now.  I will take pictures of the campground tomorrow.  I am not sure what we are going to do but I think going out to dinner will be part of that.  Bye for now.
