Vicksburg, MS

Sunday, Sept 30

It rained all day today.  Sometimes it was light and some times the skies just opened up.  It made the drive not as fun as usual as you have to drive very carefully in this weather.  We made it to Vicksburg, MS without any trouble and we actually made it in pretty early.  No problem, we checked in and got a spot.  We had 30 amps here as all the 50 amp sites were full.  Luckily, it had let up a little while we were inside checking in.  We got all set up and then had lunch.

I had decided that I wasn't cooking tonight and we are going over to the casino and enjoy one of their restaurants.  We decided on the buffet as the prices were very reasonable.  Only $14.99 for dinner.  The selection was good and we enjoyed a bunch of different things.  I liked the chocolate fountain for dessert.

After dinner I played some slots until I spent my allotted $20.  Bill watched some of the table games and said he couldn't believe how much money people were putting down.  He watched one guy lose $500 bucks and then go to another table and lose another $500!  I can't afford to do that.

We will decide in the morning if we are staying here another night or not.  It depends on the rain.  Parts of the park are flooded, or at least have deep standing water.  We had thunderstorm warnings in a couple of tornado watches in the evening.  I kept our weather radio on all night, just in case.  Here are a couple of pics of the campground.
