A wild couple of weeks

We made the move from Orange County out to Hemet and things haven't settled down yet.  First we attended the December campout of our group.  This is one of our favorite campouts of the year and it is our holiday campout.  We knew we would probably not get our favorite camping site as more and more rigs are coming in earlier and earlier.  Some even came in on Monday for the next weekend!

During this campout we made final plans to take a cruise next year with 3 other couples.  Two of the couples have cruised before and two of us never have.  It will be nice to have someone who knows what they are doing.  We leave Miami, FL on Sunday, Feb 24, 2013 for a 7 day cruise of the Caribean.  We will be visiting Nassau, the Bahamas, St Thomas, US Virgin Islands, San Juan, Puerto Rico and Grand Turk.  Over the next few days we booked and paid for the cruise, booked and paid for airfare to and from Miami, and got most of the arrangements taken care of.  Finally, I get to go on a cruise!  Oh, it is on Carnival Cruises.  I hope we have a good time.

We moved into our site at Mountain Shadows in Hemet, CA.  This is where we will stay until around May of 2013.  We moved in on Monday, Dec 3rd and that night we got the call from Nick and Aimee that baby Rory was finally coming!  They called us at 1:30 AM!  We decided to go ahead and head into OC right after getting dressed.  Little did we know it would be a long wait.  One of the reasons we headed in was the traffic that we would hit later in the morning.  It was a nice quick drive.

We got to the hospital around 4:00 AM and found that things were moving along slowly.  We hung around for an hour or so then decided to head back to the house.  Lola would need to go out and be fed.  We stopped for breakfast and then headed out.  Lola was happy to see us.  We took a short nap while we were there and took her for a walk.  We went back to the hospital around 11:00 AM.  Things were going slowly and we took Nick down to the cafeteria for lunch.  We left again around 4:00 PM to head back to the house.  Once more we had to take care of Lola.  We stayed at the house until about 7:00 PM when Nick said Aimee was starting to push.  Back to the hospital.  Rory is certainly a stubborn child as he wasn't born until 10:17 PM.  Once we were able to see him and Aimee we visited for awhile and then headed back to the house for the night.  Nick texted a picture and said he was 8 pounds 10 ounces and 20 inches long.

We spent the night at the house and headed back to the hospital the next morning.  We were able to visit with Nick and Aimee for a bit before Nick headed home to shower and change.  Once Aimee's mom came we headed back to the house, picked up Lola and took her home with us.  That would allow the kids time without having to worry about her.  We brought her back on Friday.  We also brought my parents, the great-grandparents, down for a visit.

I must have gotten too tired as I got sick on Friday night.  My throat hurt, and my nose was a bit plugged up.  Over the weekend I went to the Urgent Care place and they said I had a mild case of the flu!  And I had a flu shot in October!  Bummer.  I lost my voice for a few days and felt miserable so we haven't been back to see the kids or Rory.  I did pass it to my Mom and she passed it to Dad.  I think we are all on the road to recovery.

So that has been the last couple of weeks.  Looks like everything is back on track now.  We are waiting for a local place to figure out what is wrong with the jacks on the motorhome.  I hope that happens soon.  But other than that things are going just fine.

So I hope we are back up to date on the happening and that the next few days will be nice and quiet.
