We woke up this morning not planning on being too quick to pull out. Turns out we were so organized that we were ready to leave a little after 9:00! We only had a little over 100 miles to drive today so we were going to be checking in early, around 11;45! It was a good drive with no traffic so it was relaxing. The Sirius radio was working just fine so we were relaxed when we arrived.
We are camped at Desert Rat Campground on Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow. It is just off I-40 so it is easy to reach. The campground is a good place for overnight but since it is always hot in Barstow it not a real "camping" spot. Barstow is a small base so there isn't much open on Sunday. Here are a couple of pictures.
I was finally able to contact the base in Cheyenne, WY and we now have our reservations for the month of July. This will take care of both the 4th of July and the Cheyenne Rodeo. Yeah!
So we are off on our adventure. We will certainly miss the kids and especially Rory. He will grow so much while we are gone. Luckily, Aimee is really good about posting pictures and videos so we will keep up to date with his growth.
It is finally cooling off enough to go outside for awhile. The wind is blowing so we won't stay out much but it is nice to leave the rig for a bit. So that is all for now. More tomorrow.
