Exploring Thermopolis

Aug 10, 2013  Saturday

Today we took a drive down the street and checked out the State Park that has what is advertised as the world's largest hot springs.

It looked like it has gotten smaller over the years and isn't as big as it used to be.  Either that or they are managing the water flow so it isn't coming out as much.

The bighorn river flows through here too.  When we were on the 1916 swinging bridge we saw a turtle sunning himself on a rock.

The park is suppose to have a bison herd but we drove all over and couldn't find them.

After the park we headed over to the Wyoming Dinosaur Center.  It was interesting but not as big as I thought it was.  It also had many replicas instead of the real thing.

Luckily, we were able to pay the senior price of $5.50 each instead of the full price of $10.  I don't think it would be worth the full price.

We had lunch at a local place called the Family Restaurant.  The food was OK, nothing great.  The service was sloooooow.  But we have found that most of the service in restaurants we have been to has been slow.  Maybe we are just used to the faster pace in Calif.

We talked to our next door neighbor for awhile in the evening then went in for the day.

Here are all the pictures I took.
