Sept 10, 2013 Tuesday
We were up early today and out of the campground a little after 9:00 AM. The thermometer in the car said it was 37 degrees! Definitely time to head south!
Just outside of Jasper we hit a roadblock where they were working on the road. We had to stop and sit for about 15 minutes. Of course the first vehicle in the line was a big rig and he was a really slow driver.
We stopped in the town of Mt Robson to get some fuel. We had been told the cost of fuel was cheaper in BC than in Alberta but it isn't. It is a lot higher. We are now paying about $4.90 a gallon! Can't wait to get out of Canada. Here was the scene from the gas station.
Our route today took us from CA93 to CA16 to CA5. Our trip was just short of 200 miles. The view was very nice.
I had picked a campground called Grey Wells Golf Course and RV Park and followed the directions I got off their website. Only one thing was wrong, they didn't say it was over 20 miles from the main highway to the campground. As we drove and drove we decided we must be going the wrong way. We stopped, disconnected the car and turned around. When we got back to town I called my second choice campground. It was just right down the street, less than a mile from where we were. We are at the Dutch Lake Resort in Clearwater, BC, Canada. It is pretty nice.
The only down side is 30 amps instead of 50. I was hoping to do a little laundry but that will have to wait. We are going out to dinner tonight but I am not sure where. There is a restaurant here at the lake but I was told it was not open tonight. I can see it from the rig and the open sign is still lit. I guess I will see what happens later.
So that is all for tonight. Here are all the pics.
