Oct 10, 2013 Thursday
We are currently at Camp San Luis Obispo. It is an Army National Guard base just outside of the city of San Luis Obispo (or SLO as it is called here). There are about 12 full hookup sites here, including 50 amp. Tonight there are 4 rigs and 1 couple in a tent. Parts of the base are pretty old and some of the wooden buildings are in desperate need of repair but I imagine they will just be allowed to fall down. Part of the base is also used for a teen boot camp for those who need a little structure in their lives.
We got here around 12:20 and the billeting office was closed for lunch so we unhooked the car and took a drive around to locate the campground and other things on base. It is pretty small so it is hard to get lost. We also had lunch while we were waiting. The office opened at 1:00 and we got checked in. We are in site 3 at the campground. Sites are $23 a night.
I started some laundry and we hung around the rig. We had dinner and then drove into town to the weekly farmer's market. They had a lot of things. We should not have eaten as they had a lot of food stands and they all smelled great. I bought some fruits and veggies for this week and then we headed home.
It is cooling off here tonight. We are not that far from the coast, about 10 miles or so. Tomorrow we are going to drive around and check things out. We are thinking of having pizza in Pismo Beach at a place that is a favorite of ours. Hope it is still good.
Here are the pictures I took at the market.
