There was no fishing today. Different people did different things. Bill and I decided to take a drive over to the Devil's Postpile. We have tried to visit this National Monument. Every time we have to visit before we were always turned back due to snow. This time we were able to make it. During most of the summer you have to park at the entrance and take a bus down but since the busses are not running yet we were able to drive all the way down.
Don't forget to double click on the picture to enlarge it.
We hiked the .4 miles down to the postpile. The postpile was created less than 100,0000 years ago when lava flowed and created the vertical and hexagonal columns. This formation was originally part of Yosemite National Park but lost its park protection in the 1900's when local mining interests wanted to dynamite the postpile to make a rock dam on the San Joaquin river. Luckily it didn't happen and the postpile was granted federal protection by President Taft.
I spent a little time doing some laundry in the laundry room here. Oh joy.
We went to dinner with most of the group to a local restaurant called the Eagle's Landing. We have been here before but they no longer offer their Wednesday night 2 for 1 special. This made the meal a little expensive. Bill and I split a pork chop dinner. The food was fine but I don't think it was worth the price.
After returning to the campground we had a fire and most of us sat around it for a bit. We did roast a few marshmallows.
Aimee tells me that demolition is going along in the backyard. Rory is enjoying watching all the heavy equipment doing their thing. I hope he enjoys the final results.
Have a good day
So that was

I have never been there! I love the way the rocks look. So interesting! Did you get one to go?
Why all the construction at the house?
