Wednesday-Thursday, July 16-17, 2014
Wednesday morning the guys started work on the air conditioner. We went to the local Laundromat. By the time we got back they were done, the doors and windows were closed and the air was running. Of course, the weather has gotten cooler so we really didn't need the air. Since we needed to check it out we kept it running and wore jackets! We started and stopped it a number of times during the day and it continued to run correctly. We are staying at the service center until Thursday morning just to make sure.
We are also staying because we are waiting for our mail to arrive. We make two different plans, one for if the mail shows up tomorrow and one for if it comes on Friday. We will be leaving the service center on Thursday regardless. At least we have saved some money by not paying for camping while we are here. They have a sign saying it is $10 a night for 30 amp but they aren't charging us. If the mail doesn't show up on Thursday we will move to a local RV park for the night. I contacted our mail service and got the tracking number for our mail so I could keep and eye on it.
I made steak with fresh coleslaw, tomatoes and corn on the cob. It was really good. I don't like steak on paper plates so we used the regular ones. I can use a little extra water tonight since it is our last night with no hookups.
Thursday morning I checked the progress of our mail and it was suppose to be on a truck from Springfield. About 8:30 AM I got a call from the local post office saying that our mail was in. Yeah, we are leaving Joplin today! We put stuff away and got the rig ready to move. Then we went to the post office to pick up the mail. A quick review showed no bills so we started the rig and took off.
We decided to go back to Fort Chaffee in Fort Smith, AR. We will be spending the weekend there and I will plan out our trip to North Carolina. We will also go back to the farmer's market on Saturday. We have traveled I-40 many times so it is difficult to find new things to do and see but I think I have some things figured out.
We had Stouffer's lasagna with a salad for dinner. I can make as much mess as I want since we have full hookups here. Tomorrow morning both of us will be taking looooong showers!
It has been lightly raining since we got here. At times it is a little heavier so we won't be sitting outside tonight. When we pulled into the park the camp host was surprised to see us. They had picked up their Endeavor over the weekend. They moved from a 5th wheel into a Class A. He said they are still trying to figure out where to put everything. Two other Class A's pulled in with us.
We will probably go to the movies one day this weekend. I will have to find what new movies are being shown. I am not sure what else we will be doing but I have to find something.
So that is all for tonight. Have a good one.
