Moving east

Sunday - Monday, July 20-21, 2014

Happy Birthday Tyler Robert Ryan!

Sunday was our last day in Fort Smith.  It was a relaxing day.  We only went off base once, to get the Sunday paper.  I fixed a good dinner of hamburgers and homemade potato salad.  They were really turkey burgers but hey.  We also got things ready to go for tomorrow.  Anything that could be put away, was.

Monday morning we were up at 7:00 AM.  Of course, it could be because reveille plays at 7:00 and the speakers are really close to us.  They also play pre-taps at 10:55 PM and taps at 11:00.  Oh and when they take the flag down at 5:00 PM.  They also did a test of the emergency broadcast system on Sunday.  Guess we don't have to worry about not hearing it.

We weren't in a big hurry to leave but we were on the road by 9:45 AM.  We decided to take some side roads instead of the Interstate.  Most of the way was fine but there were a couple of places I had us stay on the side roads when we probably shouldn't have.  We were trying to bypass Little Rock but should have stayed on I-40.

We are currently on Little Rock Air Force Base which is really in Jacksonville, AR, north of Little Rock.   We plan on going to President Clinton's library tomorrow.  I will take pictures of the campground tomorrow.

That is all for today.
