Cherry Point, NC

Saturday - Sunday, Aug 2-3, 2014


Today we had about 140 miles from Raleigh to Cherry Point.  Of course it rained the whole way.  Every time we come visiting it rains the first few days we are here!  We arrived at the base around 1:00 PM, got checked in and set up on our site.  We are booked here for a month.  Lots of time to visit and have fun, as soon as the rain stops! 


In the late afternoon we headed over to Stormy's house to visit.  It was great to see everyone again.  Bill spent a lot of time teasing Stormy about her upcoming birthday.  I think that is going to be a recurring theme while we are here.  Bryant smoked chicken wings for dinner and we had a good time visiting and getting caught up with everyone. 


It rained off and on all night and into the morning.  We did get to the PX for a bit to check things out.  We also took a quick drive around the base to see what has changed in the last couple of years. 


I watched an episode of a show that is coming to Starz that I want to see.  It was the premier of Outlander and I was able to watch it online.  I wasn't sure if I was going to subscribe to Starz or wait to see if the show came out on DVD.  After watching this episode I think I will be subscribing to Starz.  I really enjoyed it. 


We will go visit the family later today.  So much to do, so little time.
