National Museum of the Marine Corps

Tuesday, Sept 9, 2014

We decided that, since it was suppose to rain today, we would spend the day in a museum.  Before we headed out we had to make a quick stop at Walmart to pick up my medications I had transferred there.  Express Scripts, after 6 weeks, still could not fill it.

The drive was about 60 miles but it wasn't bad.  Not like driving in LA where it is always bumper to bumper.  I was surprised though.  We decided to stop at Cracker Barrel and have our meal for today before we got into the museum.  I forgot there was a really nice restaurant in the museum or we would have eaten there.  Anyway, we got to the museum around 1:00 PM.

It covers the history of the Marine Corps up until 1975.  They are currently working on adding the years up to today in the next 4-5 years.  The museum is very well done and the grounds are very nice.  There are a lot of memorials around the grounds.  Enjoy the pictures.  Remember to double click on the slideshow to be taken to Picasa to see a larger version.
