We had a short drive today of only 144 miles so we weren't in a hurry. Of course that means we were ready really early. We hung around the campground until it was almost 10:00.
Our drive was pretty simple, I74 to I80 and then just follow I80 to the exit for Amana. While we were on I80 we started seeing signs for the Worlds Largest Truck Stop. As we got to the exit w decided, What the heck! and went to visit.

We have seen this truck stop on TV shows before so it was fun. I thought it just meant they had a lot of diesel pumps and places for trucks to park (over 900 spaces). Nope. it was huge! There was a really big gift shop, a fast food court, a shop that sold snacks, one with clothes and a really big shop for truck parts and bling. There was even an 18 wheeler in the store along with a couple of trucks with no trailers. There was also a sit down restaurant.

We decided to have lunch at the restaurant. We were only an hour away from our campground and it was only about 11:15. After walking around and checking everything out we went in the restaurant. It was clean and comfortable. You could eat at the buffet ($8.95 for lunch) or order off the menu. We decided to order off the menu. Bill had a BLT and I had a pork tenderloin sandwich, which was really good.

Soon we were back on the road and checked into our sit (O-3) at the Amana RV Park in the Amana Colonies. We visited here before but this is our first stop at the campground. We are able to stay here with Passport America and it came to $18.19 for a 50 amp full hookup. Not bad. Nice park too.

It is not too busy here so they have everyone separated instead of being on top of each other. We are not doing so much the rest of the day but have plans for tomorrow. I am making chicken corn chowder for dinner. After that big lunch we won't be that hungry. That is all for now. bye.
