Traveling the country, United States

Hi there!

Mar 17, 2015

It has been awhile since I have posted.  We have been busy babysitting our little grandson twice a week and other such things.  I need to take some pictures of Rory to post on this blog.  We go to the park, take walks around the neighborhood and have even spent the day in our rig!  He is so easy going.  We will really miss him when we leave.

I have been spending time, lately, planning for our upcoming travels.  We are traveling with 2 other couples for part of our trip.  So far the plan is to leave San Diego on May 3rd and head east.  We have a couple of overnight stops and then start our touring.  Here are the cities we plan on stopping in -

Wellton, AZ - overnight
Tucson, AZ - overnight
Deming, NM - overnight
Alamogordo, NM - 2 nights
Carlsbad, NM - 3 nights
Fort Stockton, TX - overnight
Junction, TX - overnight
San Antonio, TX - 3 nights
Austin, TX - 4 nights
College Station - 2 nights
League City, TX - 3 nights (Memorial Day Weekend)
New Iberia, LA - 2 nights
New Orleans - 4 nights

When we leave New Orleans we will continue east and our friends will start their turn and head a bit north then back west.  We plan on exploring Florida for a few weeks, heading into North Carolina for a couple of weeks, then start our return trip.  I haven't figured all the stops but have this so far -

Pensacola, FL - 5 nights
Tallahassee, FL - overnight
Lake City, FL - overnight
Orlando, FL - 5 nights

We will be staying at Walt Disney World's Fort Wilderness campground and visiting the parks.  I have already made that reservation and purchased tickets.  Now I need to do some planning on what we will be doing at WDW.

From Orlando I plan on heading to the west coast and then heading south.  We plan on going to Key West for a few days then heading north on the east coast.  I don't have that part planned yet.  I am trying to decide on a couple of things that will impact our route.

I am excited about Disney World as Bill has never been there and all I have seen is Epcot Center around 30 years ago.  We are not into rides as much as we were but I am sure we will have fun.

We are starting to get excited about our travels but will miss seeing Rory all the time.

That is all for now.  Watch for more updates.
