KOC Campground
New Iberia, LA

We were up and ready to go around 9:00 as our drive today was about 240 miles.  It turned out to be a loooong drive.  I was really ready to stop when we finally got to the campground.  The traffic was light but parts of the road were horrible.  We had a couple of misunderstandings on what we were doing but we finally got everything straightened out.

We are at KOC campground in New Iberia, LA.  It is a Good Sam park and not bad.  Because of the wet weather one of our jacks decided to sink into the ground a bit.  There is a big section of grass behind us with a lake.  They told us there are alligators in the lake.  Haven't seen one yet but you never know.

It rained last night

It was my turn to fix dinner.  I originally planned on making a chicken dish but we have had a lot of chicken lately.  Bill asked that I make pasta so that meant a quick run to the grocery store to pick up a couple of things.  We are about 3 miles away from the SuperWalmart.  The meal turned out good.  We had pasta, garlic bread, salad and ice cream for dessert.  Yummy.  I think everyone enjoyed it.

The rain started around 7:30 PM.  At first it was light but by the time we went to bed it was raining pretty good.  I had the weather radio on and we got a couple of alerts.  There was a tornado watch and a flash flood watch.  I finally fell asleep around 1:00 AM and got a few good hours of sleep.  The wind rocked the rig a bit but not problems.  And we didn't have any leaks either.

So that is all for today.  Tomorrow we head down to Avery Island to check out the Tabasco plant.
