Fort Myers, Day 3

Sunday, 6/14/2015
Fort Myers, FL

We decided to go out to breakfast today.  We headed to a local place called Haney's Cafe.  The food was good and the service was super fast.  We enjoyed our breakfasts.  Afterward we decided to head across the causeway to Sanibel and Captiva Islands.  Half the roads in Florida are toll roads and this one cost $6 to cross over.  And it isn't that long of a road either!

Once on the island we drove down to the tip to see the lighthouse.  It is one of the few we have seen that is metal instead of brick.

The beaches weren't real crowded and there were fishermen on the pier.  We saw a couple of people catch some fish.

We saw a bird nest on a pole.  I think it was a hawk of some sort.  We also saw some coconut trees.

We drove over to Captiva Island just because we could.  My goodness there are some big homes here!  I bet they cost a fortune.  We couldn't take pictures of them but they were HUGE!

After spending a couple of hours on the islands we headed back to the campground.  It was warm today but not as humid.  We did hear some big thunder booms but it never did rain.  It just got dark and cloudy.

After dinner we headed over to the pool and spa.  It was nice and warm.  We really enjoyed it.

Tomorrow we head south and east.  We are headed to Homestead, FL.  We have some things to do there.

Here are all the pictures I took today.
