Our drive today was only about 140 miles. It was an easy drive. For part of it we drove through the Big Cypress National Park and had the Everglades National Park on our right side.
We passed a number of air boat places and are thinking about maybe taking a ride.
While we were driving the awning guy called. He is going to meet us at the campground later today and check out our awnings. The biggest problem is that he is going on vacation at the end of the week and probably won't get all the parts by the time he leaves. That would mean we have to stay here an extra week. Well, he got there just after we did and confirmed that it would take too long so we are going to just leave them until we hit North Carolina.
It took a long time to get set up this time. First the spots are weird. There is a spot for your car, a concrete pad and then grass. The concrete pad has a big tree in front of it. We couldn't figure out how to park. I went back to the office and they said to park on the grass! How weird. We assumed the grass was the separator between sites.
We also had trouble with our satellite due to that big tree. At first the dish said it found all 3 satellites but the DirecTV box said there was no signal. Bill tried the outside dish but there seems to be a problem somewhere as he could never find the signal. We finally backed the rig up another foot or so and everything worked. It wouldn't be so bad but it is in the 90's and the humidity is at 100%. It wears you out quickly. We were both sweating. I don't think we will be coming back to this campground. I had it scheduled for after Key West but I think we are going to change our plans.
We decided to go out to dinner tonight. There is a Cracker Barrel just down the road. It wasn't busy, which is unusual. We had a nice dinner then drove around a bit. We have plans tomorrow so I should have some pictures. Dad, you can tell Mom that we are going to the Coral Castle. I will take lots of pictures for her.
