Pensacola, FL
We didn't do much on Tuesday as it rained all day. We hope it clears up for tomorrow. We are getting pretty tired of rain. I am starting to feel like moss is growing everywhere. I did get my hair cut but that was about the limit of our day.
Wednesday morning we got up and it was a nice sunny day. Looks like the Blue Angels will be flying. We got ready and headed over to the Naval Aviation Museum flight line to catch the show. They have bleachers there and they rent chairs but we brought our own. Since it is so warm (upper 80's) we put on sunblock and carried water with us. We left the rig about an hour and a half before the show was suppose to start. We may have been a bit late. There were thousands of people there. We finally got a parking space and headed out. We had a little over an hour before the show started. Bill wandered around and I saved our spots. Soon the show started. They don't have loudspeakers here so you had to watch the volunteers to see what was going to happen. This isn't really a show, it is a practice so they did do a couple of moves more than once. It was very good and I got a few pictures.
I forgot to take my telephoto lens with me, duh! But I was able to crop and enlarge a few of the pictures.
After the show was over we headed over to the museum with everyone else. We walked through a bit but it was really crowded. We did see a model of the USS Coral Sea, which is the carrier Bill spent 6 months on. It was funny because it had one of the biggest models there when it was a small carrier!
We stopped at a place called Sonny's BBQ for our big meal today. The food was good. We both had ribs.
Soon we were back at the rig and settling in for the evening. We did a little cleaning up as we leave on Friday.
That is all for now. I hope you enjoy the pictures.
