Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World

Our drive today was about 165 miles.  Part of it would be on the Florida Turnpike.  We don't usually drive on toll roads but around Orlando it seems like most of the roads are toll roads.  We arrived at WDW around 12;30.

The procedure here is different from all other campgrounds we have been in.  They have a lot of entrance booths that they send the rigs up to.  There they give you your paperwork and tell you how to get to your site.  We thought we had stopped in the hookup/unhook area but found out that wasn't where we were.  Oh well, by the time someone said something we were just about done.  We are in loop 1400, in site 1435.  It is a bit difficult to back into but we made it in just one try.  We got hooked up and turned on the air conditioner.  It is warm and muggy here.  After a bit we headed to the Settlement.  This is where we will having dinner tonight at the Pioneer Hall.  It is a show/dinner.

We walked around the area a bit.  They have a playground and this is where you catch the boat to get to the Magic Kingdom and other places.

We got in the building around 6:15 and got seated.  For dinner we had salad, cornbread, fried chicken, smoked ribs, mashed potatoes, corn, beans, and strawberry shortcake.  You also got your drinks.  Unlike Disneyland they serve alcohol here.  You could get wine, beer, soda, tea, etc.  The meal was all you could eat.  It was way too much food.  The performers were really good, too.

After dinner we headed back to the bus stop to get back to the campground.  They were having a sing-along in the area behind us.  We stopped by to check it out.  Chip and Dale were there.

They also showed a movie after the singing.  It was fun but we didn't stay for the movie.  Back at the rig we settled in for the night.  We have a full day tomorrow as we are heading over to the Magic Kingdom for the day.  Well, at least part of the day.  We will probably come back to the rig in the afternoon and head back later for the parade and fireworks.

So that is all for now.  Enjoy the pictures.
