We have been having work done in our house for the last couple of weeks. It still has a lot of work left to do but I am already tired of living in a construction zone. The floor is gone in our family room/kitchen area. The island is gone and they have started installing the new cabinets. They have removed all the counter tops in the bathrooms along with the mirrors. This means the only functional sink in the house is in the kitchen. We have to brush our teeth and wash hands there. Next week the floors get installed and the counter tops take about 7-10 working days to get here.
Now I have to pick a paint color. I am trying to decide on a shade of grey. The same colors look different in each room because of the background paint.
The painting will wait until the counter tops go on. That was I can see what it looks like with them. Also the painting can be done around everything else.
The people with the cabinets made a mistake and started taking our master bath cabinet apart. They broke one of the pieces when they did that so now they have to fabricate a piece to replace it. We will see how it goes. They won't get their final payment until it is fixed.
Bill had Terry removed the wood floors so that saved a couple of bucks. We are also removing the carpet in the living/dining rooms and having wood floors installed. I hope it looks good.
So much work for now. Can't wait until it is done.
