Albuquerque, NM

Albuquerque, NM

We had a long drive of about 256 miles today.  Wouldn't you know that most of our planned stops in rest areas were closed.  We finally found a Visitor's Center that was open and we were able to stop and let the dogs out.  They needed the walk.  After that we had about an hours drive to get to the campground.  The scenery was brush and rocks.

We are camped at Enchanted Trails RV Park just on the outskirts of Albuquerque.  All of us have stopped at this campground before.  I need to take some pictures tomorrow.  There are old cars and trailers around the park.

Once we got settled in we drove into town to have an early dinner.  Since yesterday was Lydia's birthday and we didn't do anything special it was decided that she got to pick the restaurant.  We went to La Placita in old town.  This place has been around for over 100 years.  The food was pretty good and we all ate too much.  After we ate we walked through old town for a bit.

We are going to stay another day in this campground to get caught up on things like laundry and grocery shopping.  We may even hit the swimming pool.

Bill and I spent a quiet evening enjoying the cool of our rig and watching TV.  I have walked a bit too much without my cane the last few days and needed the rest.  But my foot is getting better.

More tomorrow.
