We are starting out on our trip this week. Before we could leave I had to go have an MRI taken of my spine. There is some spinal stenosis but I feel fine. The physical therapy I have been getting for my Drop Foot is working and I am much better.
We took off Wednesday around noon to head to Hesperia and the Desert Willow RV Park. This is where the June campout for the club is. We will leave here on Sunday and head east. The weather had been really good until this week when the temps shot up into the 90's. Of course it did, we need to cross the desert!
Wednesday night we went out to dinner with the Kinkelaar's and Moore's once we all got into camp. We headed to Oggi's bar and grill. Most of us had pizza and garlic knots. It was good but I brought half the pizza home for lunch later in the week.
Thursday most of our group arrived and we sat around and gossiped. We decided to eat in and Janie made BBQ country ribs in the crockpot. It was good and we had plenty to eat.
Friday saw us hanging around again not doing much as it was HOT, We just couldn't get the energy. Some of the folks did go do a little shopping since the stores were cool. For dinner it was decided that we would go to a Buffet place called Wood Grill. It was fine, just regular buffet food. The is a Golden Corral here but I believe it would have been the same. One thing I have found out is that it is difficult to carry plates and cups when you are walking with a cane.
Saturday morning was continental breakfast in the clubhouse. We had hard boiled eggs, bananas and muffins. They were good. A bunch of the group stayed in the clubhouse and played poker while others returned to the cool of their rigs. I am glad our air conditioner is working! The heat should break tomorrow a little.
So we will be off on our adventure starting Sunday morning. Hope everything goes good.
