Dayton, OH

Dayton, OH
Wright-Patterson AFB

Yeah, we made it!  Today's drive was really long, 188 miles long.  Most of it was no problem.  There was a small portion that was mountain driving just after we left the campground but once we hit I70 it was pretty smooth sailing.  A fuel stop just east of Columbus and we headed into Wright-Patt Air Force Base.  The campground is in the back of the base and we wanted to be able to use the back gate to get there so we were timing it just right.  The only bad part was that about 15 miles away from the campground it started raining, and raining hard.  Of course it was still raining when we got there so we had to unhook the car and hook up the rig in the rain.  About 10 minutes after we finished it stopped raining.  Just our luck.  We are in site 40 for a couple of weeks then we move to site 18 for the remainder of our stay.

After getting setup we jumped in the car and headed to the kids house.  We made a quick stop at Costco for fuel for my car and at Petsmart for a treat for Lola.  We got to their place around 4:15 PM.  We were so excited to see everyone (Except Nick who was at work).  Both Lola and Rory were jumping around.  They soon settled down and Rory showed us all the changes Mommie has made over the last 9 months.  She has some really good storage ideas to help keep things organized.  I will have to have her help me when we get a place.

We played with Rory and Lola until Nick got home around 6:30 when we went out to dinner.  Rory chose Cracker Barrel.  He takes after grandpa and loves this place.  We had a nice dinner then Aimee took Rory home.  Nick rode with us so we could drive by a couple of places we are interested in.  Soon we were dropping Nick at home and we headed back to the campground.  We will be spending more time with them over the next month.  In fact, I probably won't be posting every day since we are staying still for 32 days.

That is all for now.  Bye
