Forest City, IA

Forest City, IA
Lichtsinn RV

Our drive was only 150 miles so we were not in a big hurry to leave this morning.  We hung around until about 10:00 AM.  Traffic was light and we didn't make any stops so we got into Forest City around 1:00 PM.  We are parked in the service parking lot at Lichtsinn RV.  They have electric hookups for customers who are waiting for service.  They don't have water at the sites so come in with fresh water.  We have about 2/3 of a tank so we are good for a day or two,.  Once we got settled in we went into the office to check in.  All of our parts are here so this should be smooth sailing.

We drove around town familiarizing ourselves with the city.  I also had some mail to send so we located the post office.  Everything is where we remember it being.  In other words, not much of anything.  There are a number of rigs over at Winnebago waiting for service.

For dinner we decided to go into Thompson, IA, about 15 miles away.  It is a restaurant we found out about the first time we were in Forest City.  It is a steak and potato place and the steaks are great.  They are cooked perfectly and the flavor is good.  You get the soup/salad bar, Texas Toast, a potato choice and your steak.  I had a 14 oz Ribeye and Bill had a 10 oz Prime rib.

It is not a cheap place, my steak was $24.95 but is well worth the price.  I think it is worth driving all the way out into the boonies to get.  Anyone for a road trip?

Back at the rig we watched TV for a bit and then went to bed.  We have to be up and have the rig in line at 7:30 AM.  We will be waiting in the customer lounge all day so I am packing a few things to take with us.  Lola will be staying there with us.  Who knows, maybe we will buy a new rig while here, Ha Ha.

That is all for now.  Have a good day
