Getting things done

Sunday - Wednesday, 11/19-22/2017
Springboro, OH

We got up and got ready to meet Nick at the house around 10:00 to unload everything.  Rory was even there to help!  We got everything out of the POD and into the garage.  Some of the clearly marked items we took directly to the room they belonged in.  It only took a few hours to get everything out of the POD.  We have two piles in the garage, my pile and Nick & Aimee's pile.  After Nick and Rory left we worked on emptying some of the boxes in the kitchen.  We looked at couches and things at Ashley furniture but I wanted to measure the room so we didn't buy anything yet.  We also went to Mattress Firm and bought a bed.  It is to be delivered on Friday sometime.  In the meantime we will be staying either at the rig or at the house and sleeping on the air mattress.  Bill liked the bed at Mattress Firm so much he fell asleep on it while I was doing the paperwork!  We got an adjustable split king bed.  Our bedroom is small but it will fit as long as we don't try to put a lot of furniture in there.  We only plan on adding 2 night stands and a small dresser.  We have shelves and drawers in the master closet.  The kids invited us to dinner and Aimee had fixed chili and cornbread. It was really good.  Soon it was back to the rig and into bed.

Monday morning we were on our own.  Rory did have a school performance at 11:00 that we planned on attending along with a potluck.  We got our times mixed up and missed the singing but got to the school in time for the potluck, which was really good.  We had to go back to Home Depot to made a correction on the order for my washer and dryer.  The guy who wrote up the order put our Briardale address on the form instead of the Ohio one.  That meant they had to cancel the entire order and reenter it.  What a bummer.  But it is correct now.

After that we went to a local furniture store called Morris.  This had nice stuff but the prices were really high.  We went back to Ahsley and bought a couch.  They had to find one for me in grey as they had a style I liked but it was brown.  They were able to locate a similar couch in grey so I got that one.  It should be delivered on Saturday.

I don't remember the dates we did some things as I have been exhausted by the end of the day.  We have bought some things from on-line stores like a TV stand and some end tables.  We also bought 2 desks for the office from Office Depot and those will be delivered soon.  I have an office chair but Bill needed one and Staples had a really good sale so we got one there for him.  I still need to get a dining room table, a buffet for the dinning room, side tables and a dresser for the master bedroom, a bed, side table and dresser for the guest room and bar stools for the island.  Whew!  We have made multiple trips to Home Depot to get stuff and I went to the grocery store today to get some things.  We are going to Aimee's parents house for Thanksgiving and I have to bring pies and rolls.  Easy things that I can buy as my kitchen is not put together yet.  I was able to get a Kroger card as that is the closest grocery store to us.

On Tuesday, I think, we stopped by the Wright-Pat credit union and opened an account there.  It will take us a bit of time to get everything transferred over but at least we got the process started.

I have gotten appointments to have our internet and DirecTV installed next week.  That was a long phone conversation but it is done.  We will be upgrading our equipment except for the box in the rig.  I also got an appointment with a new arthritis doctor but it is not until Jan 15.  I knew it was going to be a long time before the appt.

It is Wednesday and we decided to move into the house today.  We brought over most of the stuff today.  Of course we forgot a few things and will have to go back to the base this weekend to get them.  So this will be our first night in the house.  We also were able to get a storage spot for the rig just a couple of miles down the road.  And it is cheaper than what we were paying in Calif!

So that is all we have done.  I am so tired, I am glad I don't have to get up tomorrow too early.  We only have plans for the afternoon so we can sleep in.  Yeah!  I also get to take a long hot shower.  That is all for now  Bye
