We have been so busy every day that I keep running our of time to get the blog updated.
For Thanksgiving we went to Aimee's parents house. They were kind enough to give me rolls and pies as my contribution. I couldn't have cooked anything anyway, the shape my kitchen was in. We had a good time over there. Two of Aimee's sisters and their families were also there. When we left to head home we decided to head over to Walmart to pick up a few more things for the house. We went thinking that if they were too busy we wouldn't stop. We got there about an hour after they opened for the evening and I was surprised that they were not too busy. They might have been when they opened the doors but by the time we got there it had calmed down. They even had TV's left! I also had to pick up a few regular items of food for the next few days. We got what we needed and didn't even have to wait in line to check out.
I have ordered a bunch of furniture on-line as I couldn't find what I wanted in the stores. Of course, since I keep changing my mind it took a few days to actually pick something out. So we have been receiving "gifts" every day. Bill is thrilled at all the stuff he has to put together. Nick came over one day and helped Bill put together the furniture in the guest bedroom. There is now a night stand and a dresser in there. Now we need a bed for that room. That is ok as I don't think we have any guests coming for a bit. Our couch arrived (I did pick that out at the store) and we like it. Our bed arrived and got set up. It was nice to get off the air mattress. They brought one wrong mattress but I decided to sleep on it for a few days to decide if I need to make a fuss about it. That decision will be made tomorrow. It is a little softer than I like it.
My kitchen is put together enough to be able to fix meals in it. We are eating on one of the white folding tables we usually keep in the motorhome. My dining room table will be delivered in the next couple of weeks. I have the chairs but not the table.
I have spent time on the phone with the electric company, the gas company, the water/sewer company, and the trash company. I also scheduled AT&T to come out and put in the internet, which they did today. The person on the phone didn't really mention that they don't have high speed internet in this area so they installed a really slow system. Well, I had to cancel that service and we went with the local cable company, Spectrum, for internet. They are the only ones who provide high speed out here. If AT&T ever gets high speed internet I will go back to them. I also decided to put a TV in the office so that meant I needed to change the install order with DirecTV. They are coming on Wednesday to install Direct and I wanted them to install the unit for one more TV. Turns out they can't change an existing order so someone has to make 2 trips out here. Isn't that silly? Oh well, their dime.
We are exploring the area, trying to find little Mom & Pop restaurants without much luck. Guess we will just have to keep looking. I have found the local grocery stores and I always have the base to go to. The rig is still sitting there. We will be moving it this week. We found a place that will winterize it for us and do a few small repairs that we need.
I had to upgrade my cell phone. My old one wouldn't hold a charge anymore so I upgraded to an Iphone 8. So far it is working fine. Same number, new phone.
So I think that is all for now. I probably forgot a million things we did but will remember those later. We are getting very familiar with our local Home Depot and expect to have a few more trips there soon.
Bye for now

Tons of fun, huh? Even though we're settled in, we're still finding things to get done!
