I know it has been awhile since I posted but we have just been living each day.
We have started planning some remodeling. I knew when we moved in we were going to do some things in the kitchen, replace the appliances and we were going to paint. I have finally made contracts to get that started. I have purchased the appliances and they start arriving on the 15th of March. The painting starts the 2nd of April, I just have to choose colors. A color designer is coming sometime this month to help pick shades. I am also painting the cabinets, they will be white and gray. Aimee helped me pick out the floors, counter tops and back splash for the kitchen. That work will take a bit of time, about 10-12 weeks. Our next project is to get a small patio installed in the backyard. It will probably be done in pavers and be about 15ft by 15 ft. We will get a small table and chairs to put on it and possibly a small fire pit. I just hope there are not a lot of bugs in the spring and summer. We need to find a landscaper who will also pull out a couple of evergreen trees that Bill doesn't like right up next to the house. I plan on planting some tomato plants and a few herbs in the backyard when it warms up and becomes planting season. These will be in pots. The city is holding a event where local businesses show their stuff. We hope to find a landscaper at that. The paint company we chose, our salesperson lives around the corner from us. We can see his house from our patio. He better do a good job cuz I know where he lives! We prefer to give business to local companies if we can.
Oh, we got our taxes done and we didn't have to pay capitol gains on the sale of the house, yeah! It wasn't as bad as I thought but at least it is done and out of the way.
Remind me of what I said about remodeling a couple of years ago when we did the floors and kitchen cabinet at the YL house. I am not looking forward to all of that but we will survive. Looks like I will be BBQing a couple of nights when they start work on the kitchen.
That is all for now. I will post pics as the work gets done.
