Even more kitchen work

So the guys showed up this morning ready to get to work.  They have my backsplash installed and have started on the floor.  On Wednesday they are going to finish the floor and grout the backsplash.  They hope to grout the floor on Thursday.  This will be the last of the kitchen work and I am looking forward to having it done. 

The floor is grey so is slightly darker than the picture looks.  I was originally not going to use the basket weave layout for the floor but once I saw it laying on the floor it appeared that there was going to be a big pie shaped wedge next to the old floor as that edge is not square but on an angle.  So by changing the pattern it will look better.  The backsplash really stands out and I like it.  That area of the room is small so it doesn't look busy. 

It has been warm and humid here lately.  April was the coldest month on record and May is on track to be the warmest month. 

We went to Aimee's folks house for Memorial Day.  We had a nice day visiting with the family.  I brought spaghetti salad and a hot cheese dip.  We had hamburgers and hot dogs.  All the food was good. 

I will keep posting updates to the kitchen but it should be done this week.
